Rare treat: the first video footage of Team Meat's WiiWare Super Meat Boy
The first trailer for Team Meat's upcoming Super Meat Boy also serves to announce two previously unknown features: a 'retro world' warp zone that lets you play as 8-bit Meat Boy, "by old school rules", says designer Edmund McMillen, and, even more fantastically, a replay system that lets you see every previous attempt you'd made on each level, all at once.

Am I the only one who, every time he sees Meat Boy in any of its forms, can't help feeling like the whole thing is just plagiarism of mattmakesgames's Jumper series? Not just in the "really hard platformer" vein but right down to the jump mechanics and the aesthetics of the lead character and everything. It bugs me.

Wow Skaramuche... You're right it does look identical, and unless that Matt guy was involved in the making of Meat boy I think there will be a lawsuit coming.

@TrentHawkins the indie game community ought to be able to share. Anyhow, the original Meat Boy game has been available on NewGrounds since October 2008. Do a little research.
