Ode to Q*bert's Pyramid

I met artist Joe McKay at an art-tech seminar at UC Berkeley. This image is from an interactive computer installation he created called The Colour Game. Here are the rules:

In this 2 player game each person controls three sliders: a red, green and blue. The players uses these sliders to try and match their colour to the "target" colour before their opponent does... There are fifteen different levels and animations but the goal is always the same. A player who spends time with the game will come away with a deeper understanding of the nature of light and colour. Mixing the colour is counterintuitive to the uninitiated because you are mixing light not pigment (for example: adding red and green will make yellow not brown).

Cool — and makes a rad desktop background.
