Listen: Sidhe streams Module's space rock opera Shatter soundtrack

shattersoundtrack.jpgJust unveiled for Sidhe's just-released PlayStation Network Breakout/shooter crossover game Shatter (which I have been far too overwhelmed, game-wise, to properly get my head around, but was previously featured back in May): a new page to both stream and purchase the surprisingly excellent score from Jeramiah 'Module' Ross.

Sidhe says the soundtrack was meant to conjure "80's new wave, stadium rock and intergalactic space rock opera," and I can't argue with a single aspect of that. $9.99 will get you the full downloadable version, and, while you're there, you can also stream/buy Ross's contributions to GripShift, Sidhe's fantastic debut PSP/PSN/XBLA puzzle-racer.

I emailed the crew at Sidhe about the soundtrack and inquired about the bonus level music which was missing, and received the following reply:

Hey Michael,

Thanks for the email, and it’s good to hear that you’re enjoying the game and the soundtrack.

We initially left the bonus music off the Bandcamp site as Module (the artist) felt that it wasn’t complete enough as a standalone track. Having said that, he’s quite the perfectionist, so I’ve asked him again if we can release the track and he’s agreed.

Let me know what format you’d like it in, and I’ll email a copy to you. We are going to update the bandcamp now with the track as a ‘hidden track’, which means it’s a surprise bonus when you buy the soundtrack. Quite fitting that it’s the bonus level music!

Cheers,

Jos

I think it's really classy of them to listen to a fan's request like that without any hemming or hawing. This is definitely a developer which has earned my loyalty.
