Games Crafter: one site to design, manufacture and sell your tabletop game

And one for the tabletop/prototype set via Raph Koster: The Game Crafter, a new site Koster nicely sums as "CafePress for board game designers", where creators can assemble -- pawn by chip by spinner by card by die by sand-timer -- their own games, alongside uploaded art, which can then be boxed and sold, all through Crafter's site. A small handful of games are available already.

Interesting idea. One of the pitfalls of game self publishing is the "garage full of unsold copies" phenomena.
This site solves that, because (as far as I can tell) the copies are made on demand, and the site itself acts as a distributor.

It's cool, but unfortunately it seems limited to the most basic of boardgame types. A quick perusal of the site shows that you can customize regular sized playing cards and a generic board, and add some pawns/dice. That's it. If you're looking to make the next great Eurogame, that's not going to cut it (most are much more diverse in their use of components.)

It's not the components that make the game. Eurogames don't have to be all cardboard tiles and wood blocks. Dominion, the Spiel des Jahres this year, is 100% cards.
Dawson City Barbers is a Eurogame, and quite a clever one at that.
