Left 4 Dead SDK/mod tools go into open beta

Just for those that hadn't seen: over the weekend, Valve released its official SDK/authoring tools to "create your own campaign maps, character skins, 3D models, sound effects, and music" for ever-green fave Left 4 Dead, which I mention here because if someone could make us the perfect 70s suburban shopping mall, I would be eternally indebted.

The game was only released 6 months ago and already it qualifies as an "ever-green favorite"? I mean, I love it too, but let's get through at least one season before declaring it an evergreen.

Any idea whether or not this is going to be a PC exclusive? I'm a sad gamer/Linux geek, and I get most of my gaming kicks on my 360 (I do admittedly have a Windows partition for those games that I can only play on PC, but I opted for the 360 version of L4D). I'm not too keen on the idea of buying the same game twice, but if we start to see what I think we're going to see I'm gonna have to think long and hard.

I wonder if you could edit the film grain effect on a per-level basis to really drive home that 70's feel.
