BBIAS: Let's give this indie iPhone game a better set of spaceship graphics
Peter Lewis created Aragom, an iPhone space war game inspired by the old Star Trek games that were available on the TRS-80 and other early home computers. It's not a bad idea for an iPhone game, all told, but it needs a coat of paint. Peter is a good programmer, he noted, but not much of an artist.
So here's your challenge of the day: create some better graphics for Aragom so we can give them to Peter to use. He's sent me the PNGs seen above; you can download them all in one ZIP package.
Boing Boing Internet Action Squad: Engage!
(We're just doing a good deed for an independent software developer here, so if you submit any graphics to me or post them in this thread, let's consider them a gift to Peter. He said he's happy to give credit to anyone whose graphics he uses!)

I'd love to see a post dedicated to resources / websites / communities out there dedicated to hooking up video game artists with video game programmers with video game musicians.
I'm a very experienced programmer, with lame art skills, and no music skills. But I've got umpteen game ideas.
I'm sure I'm not alone.

Okay, I have two ships to get things started. I tried inserting them in the post but it doesn't seem to be working so here's an url instead

I'd rather hear a bit more of what the game is about so I can focus the designs. Email me, Peter, and we can get these looking just right for your game.
In relation to what Zachary mentioned - I'm a Metaplace beta tester and evangelist. We started a group called the Art Collective to help artists and coders get together on the Metaplace platform.

Um I got a bit derailed, I started out all serious, but then started having fun. Here's my thoughts about the baddies! I think it should feature lasers and the words "pew pew pew" prominently.

If peter actually wants to take it in a less serious direction, i'd be super happy to make up some more graphics for a complete mockup. funnelbc at that email that google does.

This sure worked out better than in the BBG comment thread, huh?
