8Bitpeoples/BlipFest prep Data Pop 09 SXSW chiptune party
Just when I was beginning to worry this year's SXSW might not repeat the last 8Bitpeoples showcase, local favorite theater chain Alamo Drafthouse has just announced Data Pop 09 party, a free 'celebration of the Gameboy music movement ' that will bring together Bit Shifter, Nullsleep, IAYD, Anamanaguchi, 8Bk OK, Graffiti Monsters, and Sievert for a March 18th show.
Alamo will also be screening 2 Player Production's Reformat The Planet chip-scene documentary -- which debuted at SXSW last year -- on March 10th and 11th.
With any luck, I'll be showing up at both with cameras at the ready for future BBtv footage -- anyone else planning on making it to either?

I live in Austin, so I should be able to do both. I have a couch to surf, if anybody else needs a place to stay.

also: complimentary beverage? I have my fingers crossed that by "complimentary" they mean "free" and by "beverage" they mean "beer"

Wish I could go. I own property in Dallas, but I have to live with relatives until I get my health problems sorted out. I'll just go pout in the corner instead, thanks.
