J.C. Denton responds to an ontological quandary
Compelling. I wish I'd seen this a decade ago: with the benefit of this clip and some hindsight, I would never have bothered actually writing my dissertation in metaphysics.

Some nerds (this may or may not include myself) would argue that ideas could indeed stop bullets.
Yeah it's a link to youtube...
But then again, a nerd that argues that would probably also argue that Zelda: Ocarina of Time is better than Zelda: A Link to the Past...which obviously isn't true.

You can't fight ideas with insufficient bullets.

@MACISAGUY - So true. Link to the Past is clearly the superior Zelda game. I never understand why Ocarina is constantly rated so highly. Link to the Past is just plain better.

The people with the ideas may not be bulletproof, but if the idea is sound and good the idea will live longer than the person.
Hell, look at Marx, Goldman, Rocker, Jefferson, Paine, etc.....
They have died, but their ideas live just as much as they did while alive.
Oh, had to comment anon, because for some reason offworld does not jive with me BB ID. I log in through the bb site from the comments, an I get back to the article asking me to login again.

I'll admit that you can't fight ideas with bullets, but there is one universal truth that addresses this, and many other situations:
"Any problem can be solved with the suitable application of explosives."
The RPG corollary says that you should always take ranks in explosives. Always.
